My goal was to get the etched engraving to show up as well as the Stella logo and "Belgium" from the front side of the glass - and to have the beer with some head and bubbles. After a few test shots to get the lighting the way I wanted it, I emptied and cleaned the glass and re-poured the beer for the final shot. Managing the reflections from the softboxes and getting all the writing on the glass lit was tricky - but I was satisfied with the final results.
2nd go with a little more beer to bring the head and bubbles back up...
And one of the earlier "no beer" test shots in B&W.

I continue to be impressed by the amount of customization that can be done - her site is a work in progress (I have created about 10 different themes for her to choose from) and will eventually we will move the site her own domain - for now, it is here: http://marypowellphotography.zenfolio.com/

]]>The blogging UI is just a blank "HTML" editor I think, but maybe it will come out looking OK - or I'll find a better way to do it...or maybe that is the nature of blogging. :-)
So I'll be posting some of my photos here - maybe talk about equipment that I think works well - if I have done something interesting, I'll share how I did it.
Today's photo - a Spring Theme in anticipation - one out of a series of a Tulip I photographed for a week at the beginning of Spring 2011. The flower was in the yard, but in this shot the flash along with processing allowed for the background to go black highlighting the small bug crawling on the front.
